2024 Desert Challenge
Desert Challenge is a youth/collegiate ballroom dance competition held annually in April and hosted by the Desert Challenge Dancesport Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The competition is a day-and-a-half event where students compete in various dances, such as Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Hustle, Salsa, etc.
Why sponsor us?
The Desert Challenge Dancesport Foundation supports, encourages, and trains students of all ages in ballroom dance. We teach dance classes in after-school programs, bringing the health benefits and enjoyment of ballroom dance to our local schools and community. The goal is for these students to gauge their progress and compete in the Desert Challenge competition that we host annually.
- Attract over 500 potential customers: Desert Challenge is one of the West Coast’s largest youth/collegiate ballroom competitions, attracting over 300 competitors and 200 spectators.
- Gain exposure to West Coast customers: Advertising at this event provides exposure beyond the local community and other West Coast states. Past competitors include UCSD, UCR, Claremont Colleges, USC, ASU, University of Arizona, NMSU, Utah State, and University of Utah.
- Captivate weekend tourists to your business: Since this event runs over two days, many competitors and their travel party must stay at least three nights in Las Vegas, allowing them to explore what Las Vegas offers.
- Deduct a charity donation: Our foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our donation goal is $20,000, the estimated event cost. Your contributions will help keep the entry costs low for youth/collegiate competitors. Any support through program advertising or donations is greatly appreciated.
- Work with an established event: Desert Challenge has been running for over 30 years, and we plan to keep growing in the future.
- Trend with pop culture: With the increasing popularity of TV shows like Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, ballroom dancing is flourishing. Even with the shutdowns of the last two years, it has made an explosive comeback!
- Impact an inclusive sport: Ballroom dancing encourages confidence, leadership, respect, and artistic expression. One of the foundation’s goals is to introduce ballroom dancing to as many young people as possible and find ways to integrate young and older dancers. Only some people can play or be on a sports team, but everyone can learn to dance.
